Description

11/09/08: Just started on it, but I really wanted to show what I've gotten done so far. I'm just really really psyched about how well its coming along.

Aside from finishing the man's body I was thinking of having him holding an umbrella in his left hand while his right drags the night sky behind him. I probably will add skyscrapers in the background fading into the clouds. And I need to add in the rest of the stars too.

UPDATE 11/13/08:
Im SOOOOO close to finishing! I just need to add the building in the back and clean up any messes that are left. Yeah! :D

UPDATE 11/14/08: Its done! I'd like to thank my little brother so much for his eyes. He really helped me fix allot of the issue I was having on the perspective. Thnx Mike!

One aspect in the symbolism behind it is pointed out in its tittle. "Bearer of Reverie" Meaning one who brings or presents a state of dreamy meditation or fanciful musing. Not so much one who is fool hearted and aimless, but one with great vision.

And of course there's the mythological symbolism of Hermes portrayed with the winged boots, a winged cap, and a modernization of the chlamys cloak and herald's wand that was replaced with a lounge coat and umbrella. Hermes was the god of athletes, gymnasiums, cultivation, roads, travel, and hospitality.

There are a few hidden subtle details in the image that symbolizes other aspects of this person as well. Good luck finding them! I have some ideas for other images this character that I would like to paint on canvas instead of digitally, one day.

Well for now enjoy my image. :D
